Korea University Professor Emeritus Dr. Dae-Bong Kwon, 권 대 봉 (權大鳳)
He is a HRD expert in Business, Industry, Government, and School. He served as the 5th President of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training (KRIVET http://www.krivet.re.kr), A National Think Tank within the Korea Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences, Office of the Prime Minister, Republic of Korea.
He also worked as an International Policy Adviser for the Bangladesh Government Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP), Consultant for the World Bank Sri Lanka Skills Development Project, Chair of the Major Task Evaluation Committee of the Korean Ministry of Education and HRD, the Founding President of the Korean Association of HRD, and the 23rd President of the Korean Society for the Study of Lifelong Education.
He worked 8 years at Ssangyong Business Group after earning BA in Education from Korea University. He began his academic career after getting MA and PhD in Adult & Continuing Education from Michigan State University in the USA, where he was appointed an Assistant Professor of Educational Administration and Evaluator for the Kellogg Leadership and Local Government Education Project in Michigan. He was the 1st Director of the VIPP (Visiting International Professional Program) within International Studies & Programs at Michigan State University (http://vipp.msu.edu).
Upon returning home, he taught at Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Kookmin University, while consulting for industries including Samsung and Hyundai. He then spent his long academic career at Korea University (http://www.korea.edu) where he worked as Director of Educational Research Institute, Director of Continuing Education Institute, Dean of College of Education, and Dean of Graduate School of Education.
He has presented at numerous international conferences including those organized by UNESCO, World Bank, OECD, Asian Productivity Organization, Stanford University, the University of British Columbia, Nagoya University, Hokkaido University, Zhejiang University, University Putra Malaysia, Philippines Normal University with ASEM LLL Hub, and the International Institute for Trade and Development in Thailand.
