2023 Fall Semester KU Hope Scholarship Application
- 1. Background of the Scholarship Provision
- The scholarship aims to assist graduate students facing financial difficulties despite their exceptional research capabilities and academic aptitude, thereby enhancing their research capabilities.
- 2. Eligibility and Selection Criteria
a. Eligibility (Failure to meet requirements leads to automatic disqualification)
- Graduate students at the Seoul campus (except medical school) in regular or research-completion programs
- BK21 participating students in graduate programs or research-completion programs at the Seoul campus
- Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.8/4.5 or above until the previous semester (excluding freshmen)
- Students who have received less than 50% of tuition support from scholarships such as research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and outstanding graduate student scholarships for the purpose of tuition fees.
- Other academic support scholarships like work-study aid are not relevant.
b. Selection Criteria
- Students facing financial hardship despite outstanding research capabilities and academic performance
- Students recommended by their advising professors
- Students with excellent academic records and minimal support from other scholarships in the current semester
- Priority will be given to those meeting the priority selection criteria:
Basic livelihood support recipients, lower-middle-income class, single-parent families, self-supporting workers, priority care recipients from lower-middle-income families, and beneficiaries of reduced individual burden due to lower-middle-income status.
Documents (issued within 3 months) supporting these criteria will be accepted.
3. Scholarship Application
a. Submission Method
Submit to the Graduate School Administration Team in the Media Department by December 13th (Wednesday).

2. Fill out in the provided format ('KU Hope Scholarship Application Form').

3. Proof of Research Funding (Applicable to students receiving research funding this semester)
Research Portal (rms.korea.ac.kr) > Research Projects > Other Inquiries and Applications > Participating Projects and Personnel Expenses Inquiry > September 2023 - Present Inquiry > Capture the relevant screen (including the amount disbursed).
4. Documents for Priority Selection Applicants (1 copy of any of the following: Basic Livelihood Support Certificate, Lower-Middle-Income Class Certificate, Single-Parent Family Certificate, Self-Supporting Worker Certificate, Priority Care Recipient from Lower-Middle-Income Family Certificate, Reduced Individual Burden due to Lower-Middle-Income Status Certificate)
Scholarship Disbursement: Notification of Selection Results and Scholarship Disbursement by the end of December.
