식물분자생물학 및 유전학 연구실 (담당교수 : 백경희)
본 연구실은 식물과 미생물 혹은 식물과 환경과의 상호작용에서 나타나는 제반 현상을 주로 식물 바이러스를 비롯한 기타 병원균 등의 생물학적스트레스, 또 고농도의 염분 등에 의한 비생물학적 스트레스에 식물체가 반응하고 방어하는 기작을 규명하고자 하는 연구를 수행하고 있다 . 방법 으로는 분자생물학, 생화학, 유전학 및 세포생물학 및 기타 최신 genomics, proteomics 및 RNAi 등의 기술을 이용하여 식물방어신호전달네트워크를 파악하고자 한다.
◈ 식물바이러스가 식물체에 감염될 때 나타나는 병증 및 식물체의 저항성기작을 파악하기 위하여 Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) 와 Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) 등이 식 물체에 침입할 때 각종 병저항성 및 세포사멸관련 유전자를 다양한 방법으로 대량 확보하여 기초적으로는 병저항성조절기작 파악과 아울러 응용적으로는 유전공학적기법을 고전육종과 접목시켜 병저항성식물체를 확보하고자 한다.
◈ 또 식물체에서의 바이러스감염시 신호전달체계를 파악하기 위해 yeast two-hybrid system등을 이용하여 host factor를 찾는데 주력한다,
◈ 식물체에서 환경적인 요인에 의한 abiotic stress 작용 및 저항성 기작을 밝히기 위해 관련 유전자들을 찾고 이들의 기능을 이해하고 신호전달과정을 파악하는데 주력하고 있다.
